Oh, how I wish that I could attend ADL's annual summit this Sunday in DC.  To chill with DVF and Elie Wiesel.  And, you know, Madeline Albright.  And Condi.  Always Condi. Practically my whole department will be there.  But I'm not invited to this exodus.   (ு८ு_ .:) a sample exodus

Wilder Mann

THIS is happening. http://www.yossimilogallery.com/exhibitions/2013_04-charles_freger/ It's on view through May 18th, and we really HAVE to go. This is not an option. This is not a Klimt Retrospective or a Miyazaki festival. This is an attempt to capture on film recreations of ancient European pagan festivals. Including the Krampus

Teen Mom: The Final Act

http://gawker.com/5994082/porn-superstar-james-deen-confirms-sex-tape-with-teen-mom-farrah-abraham I'm honestly surprised it was Farrah and not Amber, although I guess Farrah was always that terrible combination of 'good' looks, bad attitude, poor parenting, and looseness. She's (Amber * Jenelle * Maci)/Catelynn

❤❤ Japanese 狆 Chin ❤❤

Image
I just became aware of this breed. All the following text is taken from Wikipedia verbatim. Enjoy. The Japanese Chin is the dog of Japanese royalty. The distinctive Oriental expression is characterized by the large broad head, large wide-set eyes, short broad muzzle, ear feathering, and the evenly-patterned facial markings. The coat is low maintenance, long and smooth/silky to the touch. This breed is considered one of the most cat-like of the dog breeds in attitude: it is alert, intelligent and independent, and it uses its paws to wash and wipe its face. Other cat-like traits include their preference for resting on high surfaces such as the backs of sofas and chairs, their ability to walk across a coffee table without disturbing an item, and some of the surprising places their owners often find them in. "OK OK OK...so....maybe this is just the weed talking...but do you ever get the  feeling that we're secretly cats? cuz, like, you never know. know what i mean?&

my little pony. my little neighbor.

a visualization of my current adium setup.  ichikn is fit for a six-year-old girl. observe the cartoon hearts, the my little pony rainbow dash and pinkie pie standing in for "lol" and "omg", respectively, and, last but never fucking least, TOTORO!!!  the dock icon / totoro's expression changes depending on whether there's an incoming IM alert, etc. as far as angiepymy is concerned, all these factors together present the single strongest argument for getting a macbook instead of a windows 8 machine in the second quarter of 2013. amen v'amen.

Okay, so I was on ambien last night. That was my first excuse and also my last, for this is one series of events that oversteps the realm of excuses by a WIDE  margin. Mildewy Melissa

mildew (n.) mid-13c., mildeu "honeydew, nectar," from Old English meledeaw "honeydew" (sticky stuff exuded by aphids), from Proto-Germanic compound of *melith "honey" (see Melissa ) + *dawwaz "dew" (see dew ). Cf. Old Saxon milidou , Dutch meeldauw , German Meltau "mildew." First element in many cases assimilated to forms of meal (n.2) "ground grain." As a kind of fungus it is first recorded mid-14c., so called from its being sticky and originally growing in plants. As a verb from 1550s. Related: Mildewed .

NYMag - Childhood in NY

http://nymag.com/news/features/childhood/ Some of my favorites are Barbara Walters, Richard Price, Spike Lee, and, of course, Paris & Nicky Hilton ------- [ANGIEDIT] Thanks for posting this.  There are too many good quotes to keep adding as comments, so I'll re-publish below.  Some are just amusing/interesting, others, extremely resonant (for me). My mother and I are immigrants, and I was oblivious. We didn’t have TV, we didn’t have radio. My mother was afraid of the outside world—she survived the concentration camps, so of course you’re clannish. She stuck me in the yeshiva. The problem was I couldn’t speak English. One of the first phrases I learned was, “What, are you stupid? Can’t you speak English?”     [Gene Simmons] We used to take the subway from Brooklyn up to Yankee Stadium. It seemed like I was going to Canada.  [ Rudy Giuliani ] The life of a kid in New York City, it’s about making your circles bigger and bigger around your home. When you’d get a litt
